CURFEW PROJECT
‘Knock-Down, Rebuilds’ are a special kind of project. Especially when the homeowners have lived in the old property for as long as our clients had.
There’s excitement and sometimes trepidation at what lies ahead, and some nostalgia about all the memories created. Our job is not only to create the new home our clients have envisioned, but to guide them gently and empathetically through what is often a new and perhaps overwhelming process.
Our clients at the Curfew project had owned and lived in the original property for almost 20 years. Having outgrown the old house, they were ready to create a new and beautiful space for their family to entertain and create new memories. This was also their first time building, so an important part of our role was to guide and support them.
The design was a contemporary take on the traditional Queensland style double gable facade. The home was given a modern yet elegant finish, with James Hardie Scyon Axon cladding, aluminium picket-style feature balustrades and timber accents on doors and windows.
Cleverly crafted details throughout the interior make this house a home, including natural timber features such as the full height vertical banister and concealed storage area under the stairs.
After 20 years, this corner of Mount Gravatt has been given a new lease of life and will continue to be home for our clients for many more years to come.
